Harnessing the Power of Open Source Development in Embedded Platforms

The discussion in this DevCon 2008 session first describes the perceived benefits of open-source system development and then explains how various issues such as revision control and managing open source code across multiple platforms spoil many of those perceived benefits. The presentation concludes by introducing and detailing a cost-effective solution based on Renesas' approach to open-source development on SuperH microprocessors.
