Using an RTOS to Shorten the System Development Cycle

System developers who subscribe to the myth that an RTOS adds unnecessary overhead and slows down the development process can create products that deliver sluggish performance. The fact is that an RTOS can reduce the overhead load on the CPU through its highly optimized functions for context switching and interrupt response. As a result it actually boosts overall application performance. An RTOS also can help accelerate the system development process by simplifying it. These and other facts are highlighted and explained in this session, which focuses on development projects that use SuperH RISC processors.
